DIY Natural mosquito repellent RecipeNatural mosquito repellent Recipe

To create a natural mosquito repellent, you can use a combination of essential oils and other ingredients that mosquitoes find unpleasant. Here’s a recipe for a homemade natural mosquito repellent:

Ingredients:

Essential oils: Mosquito-repelling essential oils include citronella, eucalyptus, lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, and tea tree oil. Choose one or a combination of these oils based on your preference.

Carrier oil: A carrier oil is used to dilute the essential oils and helps them spread evenly. Good options include coconut oil, jojoba oil, or almond oil.

Witch hazel: Witch hazel acts as a natural astringent and also helps in repelling mosquitoes. Look for alcohol-free witch hazel.

Distilled water: Used to dilute the mixture and create the desired consistency.
Optional: Aloe vera gel or vegetable glycerin can be added to provide moisturizing properties.

Instructions:

Start by choosing a clean, empty spray bottle.
Fill the bottle halfway with distilled water.
Add approximately 20-30 drops of your chosen essential oil(s). You can adjust the amount based on your preference for the scent’s strength.
Pour in 1-2 tablespoons of witch hazel.
If desired, add 1-2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel or vegetable glycerin for moisturizing benefits.
Fill the remaining bottle with carrier oil, leaving some space at the top for shaking.
Close the spray bottle tightly and shake well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.

Usage:

Shake the bottle before each use. Spray the repellent onto exposed skin, clothing, and other surfaces where mosquitoes may land. Reapply every few hours or as needed, especially if you sweat or come into contact with water.

Please note – it’s always a good idea to test a small amount of the repellent on a small patch of skin to check for any potential allergies or sensitivities.
